In the May 2014 issues of the Randolph News, an article is featured on the front page entitled ” “Angels’ and Food Event Promote Agency for Mental Wellness” by Cheryl Conway. The article interviewed Director of Development Barb Flynn as well as President and CEO Lou Schwarcz from MHAMC.
The primary focus of the article is on the upcoming event, Food for Thought, which will be held on Monday, June 9th at the Birchwood Manor in Whippany from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. There is a brand new VIP Business Networking Reception from 5:00 to 6:00 PM before the food tasting which includes admission to the Premier Tasting Event. The theme for this year’s event will be “The Angels Among Us” and was inspired by one woman’s efforts in getting her daughter the help she needed with MHAMC. She was casually exercising at her gym and making small talk with a man who turned out to be a member of MHAMC’s Board of Directors! He suggested that she reach out the MHAMC for help, and he has since become her “angel.”
The event itself is a fundraiser centered around food, wine, and beer tasting from various restaurants from the area. There will a Gift Basket Raffle, a 50/50 drawing, and a Silent Auction. Senator Anthony Bucco will be honored for his advocacy efforts in Boonton and will be the keynote speaker for the event.
The event will also be honoring Christopher DePatria, VP of Signpost for his “Manuary” campaign/fundraiser that he ran back in January. You can read more about his efforts and the almost $10,000 Signpost raised for us here and here in previous posts. Brian Caine, owner of Soul Search Records in Mountain Lakes will also be honored for his time and effort he has provided in music lessons to MHAMC clients.
